In June we made a trip to Brisbane and then to Townsville. Some new birds were videod and extra footage was taken of over 40 species. The new birds were Chowchilla, Little Bronze-Cuckoo, Swamp Harrier, and Grey-headed Robin. I also saw, but was unable to take enough video of, Spectacled Monarch, Fernwren and Bower’s Shrike-Thrush. The total is now 330. I may also have video of the Golden Bowerbird and the Tooth-billed Bowerbird thanks to a friend (Jarrah) of my daughter. That would be nice.
The highlight of the trip was having lunch with Macleay’s and Lewin’s Honeyeaters, and Spotted Catbirds on the verandah of a house we rented in Paluma . You could actually pat the Macleay’s. They loved grapes. Magic!!
